Graduate student, Daegene Koh, won first place in the popular vote for best poster (out of 75) at the conference, First Stars V. Congratulations! By winning best poster, he got to give a 10-minute presentation on his work. Pretty good for a first conference!

The first Georgia Tech Cottrell Scholar since 1999, Tamara Bogdanovic’s research, “Shedding Light on Supermassive Black Holes,” will include the development of high-resolution computer models. Utilizing existing observational data, Tamara Bogdanovic will attempt to develop a new generation of theoretical models to aid in the discovery and observation of binary supermassive black holes.

Tamara Bogdanovic has been awarded one of the four Cullen-Peck Fellowship given by the College of Sciences, GaTech. Cullen-Peck Fellowships recognize research accomplishments led by associate professors or advanced assistant professors.
Brad is a veteran in the field of massive black hole mass measurements using reverberation mapping and a former chair of Astronomy at OSU. Brad will also give a Colloquium at GSU and a public talk co-ordinated by GSU. We will co-advertise this public event too.
